02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our purposes, as set out in our constitution, are to promote the health and well-being of the inhabitants of the Boggs Community and to manage and maintain the Boggs Community Hall for activities which benefit the Boggs Holdings Residents and the wider community.

Constitutional objectives
(a) to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Boggs Community in the Parish of Pencaitland and Lothian Region and environs without distinction of bpolitical, religious or other opinions, by associating the Local Authorities, Voluntary Organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. and, in furtherance of these objects, to implement the conditions of the Deed of Trust dated 25th April, 1956, by Sir David John Wilfrid Ogilvy, Baronet of Inverquharity, residing at Winton House, Pencaitland, East Lothian, Charles Laing Bruce, Esquire, M.A., The Schoolhouse, Pencaitland, East Lothian and Richard Tyrrell Watt, Esquire, Writer to the Signet, Jerusalem, Pencaitland, East Lothian, the Trustees for the time being appointed by and acting for The Association. (2) To maintain and manage the Boggs Community Centre, Pencaitland aforesaid for activities promoted by the Association and its constituent members in furtherance of the above objects, and to carry out any extension of the premises or facilities provided which may at any time seem necessary or desireable.
