02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
As per our primary objective, we have continued to offer opportunities for people from Edinburgh and environs to come together to explore the teachings and practices of Buddhism, whether they are newcomers or more established / connected. We are offering these opportunities both on line and in person, which supports the possibility for people in a variety of circumstances to attend our events and classes.

Constitutional objectives
The object of the FWBO Edinburgh is the advancement of the Buddhist religion, in particular: (i) To encourage members and others to Jive in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha (ii) To support ordained members of the Western Buddhist Order at the discretion of the council of trustees of FWBO Edinburgh. (iii) To maintain close communication with and work under the guidance of the Western Buddhist Order and in close co-operation with other groups with the same objects
