What the charity exists to do
Funds are available to meet applications which are received on an annual basis from residents of the area around Newcastleton, Roxburghshire. These tend to be in the main in respect of claims towards further education expenses.

Constitutional objectives
The purposes of the Trust are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Liddesdale in the county of Roxburgh and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare and of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants
