02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We deliver and develop support of arts and crafts in an environment that is sociable, friendly and supportive for members of the community. We hope to benefit the mental health of those attending through freedom of expression. We try to support vulnerable adults. Apart from open sessions, we also run workshops delivered by different tutors to broaden interest and create variety. These run on a regular basis. We are continuing maintenance of the Laing Hall, ensuring that the environment is in line with relevant safety standards and checked regularly. We also try to donate money to other local charities when we can. Throughout the year, we participated in the annual Nairn Fest to promote the society, and ran a summer exhibition of members’ work. and another exhibition ran in the community centre in the Winter. (All monies raised paid out to members concerned.) This year, we organised a Christmas lunch as a social event where people could just relax and enjoy the company.
