02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Home-Start Levenmouth was established in 1993 in response to needs identified by local workers and covers the area from Lower Largo in the east through Leven, Methil, Windygates, Kennnoway, Buckhaven and the Wemyss villages as far as West Wemyss in the west. As a vital community resource, Home-Start Levenmouth aims to strengthen family bonds and promote positive parenting experiences. Our highly trained volunteers, provide one to one home-visiting support to families in their home, where it can be shaped to the needs of the family. We are recognised as a trusted partner in the local communities we serve, and we work closely with local partners to ensure that families have access to centred early intervention and prevention support. While this ideal remains at the heart of our work, we have created new ways of helping parents and their children to meet the changing needs of families. To complement the home-visiting service, groups have been set up for families to meet together f
