02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To offer practical support to the parents/carers of children with Additional Support Needs in the area of Angus by providing social, leisure and educational activities in the weeks of the school holidays.

Charitable purposes

  • the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended
  • the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

Constitutional objectives

The objects for which the Company is established are:- To promote the welfare and advance the education of parents, or carers of children with special needs as well as the children themselves. In furtherance of these objects but not otherwise the Company shall seek:- (a) to offer practical support to the parents/carers of children with special needs in the area of Angus, by providing social, leisure, and educational activities in the weeks of the school holidays. (b) to promote the I interests of these children by providing play experiences in a positive and challenging environment. Where possible, this should be in situations which are socially integrated. (c) to actively encourage social integration by enabling the participation of children with special needs in mainstream child and youth activities.
