02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The objectives, which are detailed in the Trust Deed, require that the Trust Funds are distributed for the benefit of the community of West Linton. The funds are held on investment pending applications for funding. The Trustees consider requests for funding when they are received and continue to inform local organisations of the funding available.

Constitutional objectives
For the benefit of the community of Peeblesshire, being the community residing within the environs of the said village of West Linton, and in such part of the surrounding area a the community council may determine from time to time (all hereinafter referred to as 'the Village') and more particularly:- (i) For the preservation, upkeep and improvement of the fabric and amenityof the villiage. (ii) For the protection and improvement of the village enviroment. (iii) For the provision of recreational facilities for the residence of the villiage (iv) For making donations to any trust, company,institution,society or other body wherever resident of situate established for the charitable purposes only for the benefit of the community of the villiage.
