02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
provide appropriate, flexible support both practically and emotionally to people with learning or physical disability. This is done by having an appropriately trained and dedicated staff.
Charitable purposes

Constitutional objectives
a) To promote, provide and operate housing, sheltered housing, night' shelters, day centres , hostels and other amenities for the care and welfare of the mentally handicapped, physically handicapped' and' elderly who are unable to find, a place, temporarily,or'permanently, through social deprivation and to create conditions calculated to affect favourably their mental, physical and moral welfare and, as far as possible,to enable them to take their place as responsible citizens of the cOInmunity (b) To manage'control, administer and govern the residential homes, centres and other premises of the, Company in every respect as may seem fit and to appoint administrators, care assistants, nurses, physicians and others for giving attention, instruction, treatment, training, rehabilitation artd special care and ,services (c), To receive as residents of the, homes and centres or'other ,premises such persons as the Company may consider proper and that on such conditions including payment of, fees for or towards their care,maintenance, training and treatment and for such periods all as the, Company may fix, and to remove any such persons from said centres and premises, at the discretion of the Company without cause, assigned' (d) For the purpose of, promoting any objects of, the Company to co-operate, with manufacturers, dealers or other trades and with the Press and other sources of publicity.
