02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
own Break supports people living with dementia, alongside their carers, families and friends. Our community and hospital-based services help people stay connected, reduce isolation and continue to be themselves. Support is built around each person’s choices, interests and abilities. Activities include reminiscence, music, singing, dancing, exercise, crafts, quizzes and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy, alongside sessions with local partners. Our services also provide vital respite for carers. Caring for someone with dementia can be physically and emotionally demanding, and regular breaks are essential. Town Break gives carers time to rest, attend appointments, see friends or simply have time for themselves, knowing the person they care for is safe, supported and valued. By supporting the person with dementia and the person who cares for them, Town Break helps families continue their journey together.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's purposes are to provide care and support for clients diagnosed with dementia and their carers 4a. To provide Day Club facilities, a Befriending Service and any other appropriate services for people with a diagnosis of dementia. 4b. To advance education by training volunteers in understanding the issues related to dementia. 4c. To provide information and support for carers.
