02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
ODTC has continued to provide tailored support for our members with learning disabilities, ensuring they have the resources and assistance needed to participate fully in our programs. Our inclusive approach fosters a supportive environment where all members can thrive, develop their skills, and build confidence through theatre and performance arts. Due to the demand for our service we continue to attract new members and are now crossing into Highland and Aberdeenshire regions. This expansion allows us to reach more communities and provide our unique service of theatre training and support to a wider population.

Constitutional objectives
The company’s objects are: (1) The company is established to advance the education and to promote the welfare of people with learning challenges through a) the provision of a forum which will enable people with learning challenges to fully express themselves through the creative arts. b) The creation of meaningful work experience in the arts for people with learning challenges c) the encouragement of self-reliance and initiative among people with learning challenges through their involvement with the arts (2) The company is established to advance education in performing arts through working in partnership with education providers. (3) The company performs and provides theatre and entertainment ensuring accessibility to all, enabling community and social engagement. 5 The company’s objects are restricted to those set out in article 4 (but subject to article 6). 6 The company may (subject to first obtaining the consent of OSCR) add to, remove or alter the statement of the company’s objects in article 4. on any occasion when it does so, it must give notice to the registrar of companies and the amendment will not be effective until that notice is registered on the register of companies.
