02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The NTC, a charity since 1992 (a SCIO since December 2025), has remained financially sustainable to date. Its principal aim is ‘to manage and maintain a community facility that benefits people with different needs, living in a remote rural area, through the promotion of educational and social and opportunities’ by: • providing office and meeting space for public/voluntary organisations/individuals • working with other local organisations/groups (e.g. schools, library, trusts, charities, health & social care, youth groups) • overseeing the building and its financial accountability • consulting with the community regarding any plans and use of the building
