02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The principal activity of the Milnbank Area Residents' Social Club is the promotion of the Milnbank area of Dennistoun and surrounding areas. The Trustees are local voluntary residents and supported by staff from Milnbank Housing Association. The Social Club holds activities and events to enhance and benefit the local community. Different activities are held each year, but the Social Club organises an annual Gala Day, outings for the children's club, a weekly meet for parents and toddlers, a weekly bingo club, crafts club and fundraiser events.

To promote the benefit of the Milnbank area of Dennistoun and environs without distinction of political, religious of other opinions by the association the inhabitant voluntary organisations and local authorities in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities and services in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants. b) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a CENTRE of activities promoted by the Group and for the use of the inhabitants of the MILNBANK area furtherance of the above objects.
