What the charity exists to do

Bfriend is a small locally run charity based in Ayr. It was set up 30 years ago to help provide a befriending service for young people in South Ayrshire who may be socially isolated, or who have social or emotional difficulties. Bfriend supports around 50 young people aged between 8 and 18 years providing one to one befriending and group activities. The Project’s full team consists of a Project Manager 3 part time Project Coordinators, and one full time Project Administrator who together carry out the daily running of the service and the recruitment and training of volunteer befrienders. It is overseen by a Board of Trustees, with different professional backgrounds each with their own specific remit within the Project.
