02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Manage a sports stadium and ground at Alexander Simpson Community Park, Keith for the benefit of the local community. Facilities made available and used regularly by Islavale JFC, Ugie FC, Keith & District Sports Development and Keith FC Youth.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Company are:- 1. (i) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Town of Keith and its environs, which area shall hereinafter be referred to as the 'Area of Benefit', without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide, or assist in the provision of, sporting facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (ii) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of such sporting facilities for activities promoted by the Trust. and in furtherance thereof but not otherwise. (iii) to promote social welfare in the area of benefit with the object of improving the condition of life for people resident in the area of benefit by raising funds and co-ordinating fund raising and generally to engage in any activity to provide or assist in the provision of sporting facilities for the benefit of the members of the public in the area of benefit. (iv) to develop the Keith & District Sports Trust as an organisation providing facilities for recreational, sporting and cultural activities in the area of benefit. (v) to secure the use of the Keith & District Sports Trust for the benefit of the people of the area of benefit. (vi) to promote civic pride in the area of benefit. (vii) to promote research into subjects directly connected with the objects of the company and to publish the results of any such research. (viii) to act as a co-ordinating body and co-operate with the Local Authorities Planning Committees and all other Statutory Authorities, voluntary organisations, charities and persons having aims similar to those of the Company. (ix) to promote or assist in promoting activities of a charitable nature throughout the area of benefit. (x) to publish papers, reports and other literature.
