02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are a registered charity providing out-of-school care for children and young people aged 4.5 years up to 18 years and 9 months. Our service operates in an area with high levels of social and economic deprivation, where families often face limited childcare options, financial pressures, and barriers to accessing support. Our role is to provide reliable, accessible, and inclusive childcare that meets the needs of the local community. A significant proportion of the children and young people who attend our service have Additional Support Needs (ASN) or disabilities. Many require individualised approaches, consistent routines, and staff who understand their specific needs. We are equipped to provide this level of support. Our staff are trained to work with a wide range of needs, and our environment is structured to ensure that children with ASN can participate safely and meaningfully in all aspects of our service.

Constitutional objectives
The company's objects are: (a) To promote the care and education of children of the residents of Lincluden and Lochside and surrounding area ('the Operating Area') in need of care during out of school hours and school holidays, and to promote the provision of facilities for the recreation and other leisure time occupations of such children in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving their conditions of life and to enable parents to work or pursue further/higher education or training. (b) To advance education among the residents of the Operating Area, particularly among young people and the unemployed, and advance the education and training of persons providing such care, education and recreational facilities. (c) To promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Operating Area. (d) To promote trade and industry, for the benefit of the general public.
