02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Charis Foundation existed to provide a counselling service to those in need, regardless of social status, race, religious or philosophical belief. Since January 2023, clients had been requested to make voluntary donations for each session. however, provision of the service remained free to those who were unable to make a financial contribution. The second aspect of the Charis Foundation was to provide CPCAB-accredited counselling Training Levels 2, 3, and 4, culminating in the Charis Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. The third aspect of Charis Foundation was to offer Christian retreats designed to suit individual requirements.

Constitutional objectives

To promote the welfare and relieve persons in need of spiritual, emotional and psychological support by the provision of counseling and to manage and maintain a resource centre to provide training for those in counselling. In furtherance thereof but not othewise the Charis Foundation shall seek. (a) To provide a Counselling Service to those who self refer or individuals referred by agencies or churches. (b) To provide pastoral care and spiritual direction to those who self refer or individuals referred by agencies or churches (c) To provide training, education and supervision for those working in the caring professions and within local communities of faith. (d) To promote opportunities for networking and consultancy in the community. (e) To provide retreats and spiritual direction.
