What the charity exists to do
The James Smart Lecture Fund is to be established with the object of promoting the widening and deepening of police thought by means of lectures to be known as the James Smart Lectures and to be delivered annually as aftermentioned on subjects connected with the police including not only the organisation administration and work of the police either in the United Kingdom or elsewhere but also criminology forensic science and the administration of criminal justice in any part of the World In such a way that the Lectures will deal with the original research or otherwise contribute to the wider understanding of police problems practice and experience.
