02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Mossburn Community Farm is set up to rescue, rehabilitate and provide a home for domestic farm animals which have become abandoned, abused or misplaced due to a variety of circumstances. They are provided with all appropriate nutritional and welfare care to bring them to health and have a home for life with us. As we have a unique environment here which lends itselfWe also use our premises and animals to work with mainly young people with a variety of mental health needs, providing varying levels of therapeutic care and learning to help them through their difficulties.

Purposes 4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 The Advancement of Animal Welfare 4.2 The advancement of citizenship and the promotion of volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and abilities 4.3 The advancement of education in relation to the welfare, management and care of animals. 4.4 The provision of relief to vulnerable persons suffering from a mental and/or physical disability or impairment through the provision of recreational and therapeutic activities.
