02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Charity’s purpose and principal activities are in achieving the vision of a good life for everyone who lives with bipolar, through three strategic priorities: To empower and support. to influence and campaign and to grow and improve. Some of the means by which these priorities and vision are worked towards include: promoting, developing and co-ordinating a network of community based and online bipolar support groups throughout Scotland. informing and educating on the nature of the condition and the role and value of the organisation itself. delivering self-management training courses where members learn to recognise their symptoms and effectively manage their lives, and by taking a human rights based approach to reducing diagnosis delay to prevent suicides and promote an equal right to life.
