What the charity exists to do

The main aims of the Edmiston Family Charitable Trust is to support children through development & education and those in need with health disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. In addition the trust supports the advancement of animal welfare.

Constitutional objectives

The Charitable Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund for such charitable purposes only within the United Kingdom as are within the meaning assigned to the term 'charitable purposes' in Section 505 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 as amended or re-enacted from time to time, hereinafter called 'the purposes of the trust'. The Charitable Trustees shall have the power to apply the Trust Fund in the attainment of the purposes of the Trust and do all things as will properly attain the advancement of such objects including in particular (but without prejudice to the foregoing generality) the power to make grants to such bodies in the United Kingdom as are organised exclusively for a purpose which falls within the purposes of the Trust and that to such an extent as they may from time to time think fit and, in so far as any income is not so utilised in any one year it shall be retained by the Charitable Trustees and used in the following year or years for the purposes of the Trust.
