Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Association shall be: (a) To advance education and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, where such provision or assistance in provision is in the interests of Social Welfare and is made with the object of improving the conditions of life of the members of the community in the area of benefit and, to associate with the residents of Bridgehouse for the purposes of carrying out the main aims and objectives of the Trustees of the late Captain Hope of Bridgecastle as outlined in the Disposition dated 1918 and registered in the Division of the General Register of Sasines applicable to the County of Linlithgow for publication on 13th July 1918 and outlined as follows: (i) To repair and maintain the Hall, erections, fittings and, fixtures on behalf of the said Trustees. (ii) To constantly insure the items listed in I) above against damage or loss by fire to a sum sufficient to rebuild, restore or replace them in the event of any being destroyed or damaged. (iii) To carry out (i) and (ii) above and provide heating and light and other necessary outlays upon the premises and contents in order to facilitate regular use of the hall by the residents of Bridgehouse for the purpose of holding regular meetings and gatherings of children, young people and adults for the education & social welfare of the people of Bridgehouse or any recreation or leisure-time occupation or social meeting which the Association may think fit, including a Sunday School or Children's Church for which no denominational or sectarian test shall be imposed. (b) To raise money for the purposes of the Association through membership fees, hire charges, fund raising events, gifts and donations in response to public appeals. (c) To invest the monies of the Association not immediately required for its objects as may be thought fit by the Management Committee.
