02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our mission is to support individuals and their families to live their best lives by providing innovative and sustainable services, and this underpins all that we do. We work in partnership with the people we support, families, carers, and professionals to support and promote the interests of children, young people and adults who have communication support needs arising from a range of disabilities including, but not limited to, deaf blindness, autism, cerebral palsy, sensory impairment, learning or physical disability, often against a backdrop of complex health needs. We deliver services which aim to provide choice and continuity across all age groups, and work closely with the individuals we support, their families and carers, and with professionals working in our field, to continually develop and improve service delivery, aiming at all times to exceed expectations.
