02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to look after unpaid carers and those they look after that reside in the east end of Glasgow. We do this by providing person-centred support of each individual that registers with our centre. This can be simply filling in a form to help the individual get the benefits they are entitled to receive or we can provide training and support to assist families understand the condition their loved one has been diagnosed with ( e.g Autism) and provide them with coping strategies. We also provide breaks and wellbeing activities to help sustain the carers in their role for longer

Constitutional objectives
The company's objects are: (1) To relieve the needs of individuals resident in the east end of Glasgow (the 'Operating Area') and suffering from any form of mental or physical disability, illness or impairment (which may include age associated problems) and their carers. (2) To promote and/or provide training in skills associated with the care of people resident in the Operating Area and suffering from any form of mental or physical disability, illness or impairment. (3) To provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation for the purpose of improving the conditions of life of individuals resident in the Operating Area and suffering from any form of mental or physical disability, illness or impairment and their carers. (4) To promote, establish and operate and/or support other schemes and projects of a charitable nature.
