Constitutional objectives
The purposes of the Trust are: The Trustees shall accept and acquire such corporeal moveables, whether historically connected with Clan Menzies or with the districts associated with Clan Menzies or otherwise, as they consider to be of educational interest or for other public benefit, consistent with the charitable purposes of the Deed. The Trustees shall restore and maintain the Castle, with the advice of Historic Scotland and other associations or bodies in order to preserve it as an important example of the fortified domestic architecture of Scotland, and restore and maintain other appropriate property owned or acquired by the Trustees or otherwise owned provided that the restoration and maintenance is for the benefit of the public. And the Trustees shall open an Account in their names or the names of not less than any two of them and the amounts deposited therein shall be payable only in the furtherance of the objects of this Purpose. The Trustees shall assist in the provision and maintenance of a museum at Castle Menzies for the purpose of educating members of the public in the history of the locality and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing in the history of Clan Menzies. The Trustees shall do such other acts as are consistent with the charitable objects of this Trust and which relate to the history of Clan Menzies.
