The charity has supported charities this year that promote sailing amongst the young, and also younger musicians.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Trust and the application of the Trust Fund shall be for the following purposes: to support the charitable works of the following institutions namely (one) the R.N.V.R. Club (Scotland) Memorial Trust, The Western Club, Glasgow, (two) The University of Glasgow Trust, (three) the Faculty of Actuaries Edinburgh, (four) The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (Scottish Branch), (five) the Salvation Army, Scotland and (Six) such other charitable institutions which in the absolute discretion of the Trustees are deemed to be worthy of support declaring that as a guide to the Trustees (without curtailing their discretion) consideration to be given to schemes and enterprises of a charitable nature which enable young people to learn about and experience sailing at first hand and to assist those who by infirmity of mind or body or because of financial constraints would otherwise be unable to participate in such schemes, generally to support charities which are involved in the care and/or education of children, or any other activities deemed by the Trustees to be worthwhile. And the Trustees are specifically directed not to exclude any avenue of assistance which promotes activities which might be considered to be obscure or eccentric provided it can be encompassed within the foregoing directions.
