02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Working in Nepal for over 25 years we’ve been involved in many different projects. In the early years the emphasis was towards health scare and renewable energy schemes: the emphasis is now more towards education and healthcare and in particular the training of healthcare workers. Community engagement is at the heart of all of the projects we undertake. For a project to be long term sustainable the local community has to take ownership of it. Our 2 current projects are the Humla Education Project (the repair of various government schools that are in a poor condition to allow the schools the opportunity to provide classes on a regular basis in a safe environment) and General Healthcare (running a sustainable healthcare programme organizes the supply and dispensation of basic medicines and running medical awareness and hygiene programmes).
