02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was set up to provide emotional support to those effected by cancer in Tayside. This includes those with a cancer diagnosis, their friends and family, or medical professionals.

Constitutional objectives
2. OBJECTS The objects of the Association shall be to alleviate the suffering and distress and further the health of persons in Tayside who either have suffered or are suffering from cancer, their families and friends, and to promote the welfare of staff involved in cancer care by:- (1) providing emotional, psychological, educational , social, spiritual support. and (2) providing training & facilities for befriending for the benefit of all such persons. (said objects being hereinafter referred to as 'the objects'). In order to accomplish the objects, the Association shall have a Befriending Service. The Befrienders shall:- (1) promote and abide by the objects of the Association. (2) be contactable through the Association (3) attend to the needs of the person using the Association, in accordance with the objects, at a place mutually agreed between the person, the Association, and the Befriender. and (4) abide by the terms of the Code of Practice for Befrienders as approved from time to time by the Association
