02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The purpose of The Edinburgh Samba School is to advance education and promote Brazilian art forms and culture through: I) Regular drumming/dancing rehearsals II) Regular drumming and dancing performance at community gala days charity gigs, workshops and private events III)To offer public drumming/dancer workshops to support others to learn to drum/dance and to help recruit new members on a regular basis.

Constitutional objectives
The purposes of the Association are to advance education and promote the arts through:(a) the provision of opportunities to the public to participate in, learn about and appreciate performances of music making and dance, based upon Brazilian art forms . and (b) the provision of opportunities to the public to learn about Brazilian culture. and (c) the development and maintenance of links with Brazilian arts projects and charities. and (d) the support of other community and charitable ventures.
