02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Milan is a charity set up to support South Asian older people (50+) in Edinburgh and the Lothians to improve their wellbeing, independence and quality of life. We do this by providing culturally-appropriate social, recreational and educational activities, reducing isolation, and promoting inclusion. We offer day care provision for 65+, unregistered services, unpaid carers support, wellbeing programmes, information/advice, and support for people with additional needs. We support those most excluded and face inequalities to ensure older people and unpaid carers have equal access to services and opportunities that help them stay connected, confident and healthy.
