02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To administer funds in support of Sea Cadet Units in Edinburgh and South East Scotland. In addition to grant assistance for individual sea cadet units in the area, help is also given for organisations and facilities serving a wider area but available to benefit cadets of these units.

Constitutional objectives

(a) In support of the Area or District Officers of the Sea Cadet Corps for functions, events and purposes organised by such Area, District or other organisations of the Corps for the benefit of Units within the area of the Trust (b) By grants or loans (interest bearing or interest free) to individual units of the Sea Cadet Corps within the area or for acquisition of headquarters buildings, training aids, gear or other property for them which will be of benefit to that Unit (c) For the support of individual members of the Sea Cadet Corps to assist them to go on training which they could not otherwise afford and in particular sail training afloat (d) To support the sail training of the Sea Cadet Association and in particular the upkeep of TS Royalist or other training ships of the Sea Cadet Association
