02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are set up to research the history and design of Arran's buildings and to publish books to encourage interest and understanding of them. We monitor developments and planning proposals for change and support or oppose them where we feel it is necessary. We organise visits and talks to help build knowledge about historical buildings and good design to improve the environment and help address the shortage of good, affordable housing. Our trustees have a range of skills including in the arts, environmental sciences and research and campaigning techniques.
