02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Driver and motorcycle rider training to prepare trainees for the IAM RoadSmart advanced driver/rider test, with the aim of improving driver/riding standards and hence road safety. Social runs and members meetings area arranged throughout the year in support of the aims of the charity.

Constitutional objectives
To promote the objects for which the IAM was formed, namely, to improve the standard of driving and for the advancement of road safety. To encourage and assist motorists to become Members of the IAM. To publicise the IAM and its work throughout the area. To provide road safety, social, and competitive events for Members, Associates, Friends, and members of the general public. Driving events on a public road must not be timed.
