02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The purpose of the company is: (1)To support the health and well-being of people living in Glenurquhart and the surrounding areas served by the Drumnadrochit Medical Practice ('the Area of Benefit') by addressing illness, distress, and suffering in ways the company deems appropriate. (2)To offer or help provide local services for elderly and vulnerable individuals, prioritising current and former residents of the Area of Benefit, regardless of political, religious, or other beliefs. (3)To create or support other social welfare facilities aimed at improving the quality of life for residents by promoting recreational and leisure activities.

Constitutional objectives

The company's objects are: (1) To relive the sickness, distress and suffering and to further the health of the inhabitants of Glenurquhart and environs commonly served by the Drumnadrochit Medical Practice ('the Area of Benefit') in such ways as the Company shall from time to time think fit. (2) To provide, or assist in the provision of, local residential, respite and health care facilities for the elderly and infirm, primarily for the use of the existing and former inhabitants of the Area of Benefit without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. (3) To provide, or assist in the provision of, other facilities in the interest of social welfare for the recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
