Constitutional objectives
The objects of the Trust are to provide, or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the condition of life for the inhabitants of the Shetland Islands and in particular to secure the establishment, maintenance and management of recreational facilities at Whiteness, Shetland for activities in furtherance of the foregoing objects and the Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund at their sale discretion to make grants, loans or payments out of the income or capital of the Trust Fund for these objects or any of them or for such other purpose or purpose charitable in law solely for the benefit of Shetland and its inhabitants as the Trustees shall from time to time determine and to do all things as will properly attain the above objects: Declaring that such grants or loans may be made on such terms and subject to such conditions as the Trustees may think fit and in the case of loans with or without security and upon such terms as to interest, if any, and repayment as the Trustees in their sole discretion think proper: Declaring further that no act of the Trustees shall be deemed to be ultra vires by reason only that persons who are not inhabitants of the Shetland Islands mayor will benefit indirectly by such act
