What the charity exists to do

The Charity's objective is to promote the welfare and support of families without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. This is done by providing emotional and practical support, guidance and reassurance through our home-visiting volunteers, family support workers and our peri-natal mental health service to vulnerable families referred to us through other agencies, or self-referred.

Constitutional objectives

1 The company’s purposes are: • the prevention or relief of poverty • the advancement of family education • the advance of health • the advancement of citizenship or community development • the promotion of equality and diversity • the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage. In furtherance of these purposes, Home-Start Glenrothes will deliver a range of services aimed at: • Reducing family isolation and increasing social support networks • Strengthening parent/carer-child relationships • Improving the emotional health and well-being of parents and carers • Developing and improving parenting/caring skills • Improving the home environment • Improving children’s health, well-being and development • Increasing access to health, education and community services
