02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The objectives of the Charity are to engage and work with the people of Tiree to deliver services and projects hat are needed by the community, but that might not otherwise be provided without the involvement of Tiree Community Business Limited. To provide facilities for the local community within the TCB building. provide office space to rent on either long or short term bases. develop or facilitate projects desired by the public on the Isle of Tiree. to provide, in the interest of social welfare, facilities for recreation an other leisure time activity at large. To promote establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community.

(1) To relieve poverty among the residents of the Isle of Tiree ('the Operating Area') (2) To advance education among the residents of the Operating Area, particularly among young people and the unemployed (3)To promote and/or provide training in skills of all kinds, particularly such skills as will assist residents of the Operating Area in obtaining paid employment (4) To provide in the interests of social welfare, facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large with a view to improving their conditions of life (5) To promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the Operating Area (6) To promote trade and industry, for the benefit of the general public
