02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Stirling District Tourism Limited (SDT) is a local charity committed to managing and promoting cultural and historic events, services and attractions in the greater Stirling area. SDT does this through management of the visitor experience of the Church of the Holy Rude, through operating Legends visitor centre at the National Wallace Monument, Legends cafe at Cowane's and through a themed programme of events throughout the Stirling area.

Constitutional objectives
The company’s objects are: (a) to advance the arts, heritage and culture and to advance education. (b) in furtherance of (a), the company will preserve, develop, promote and widen awareness and understanding of the history, attractions and cultural significance of Stirling and its surrounding areas as a world class visitor destination. (c) in furtherance of (a), the company will seek to achieve this in partnership with local and national organisations, community groups and other stakeholders to constantly improve the visitor experience.
