02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Hall Association is mostly self-funding and the main activity of the committee is to raise funds and manage the smooth running of the hall. Community groups such as Badminton, Yoga, Line Dancing, Heritage etc are able to benefit from the facilities at a low hire charge. In addition, the hall is let for an assortment of functions such as parties, concerts and family occasions and we host meetings, lectures, Public Inquiries, coffee mornings, dog shows and Councillor surgeries for the wider community as we have the largest village hall in the area. Our hire charges and efficient management of finances, ensures a successful fit for purpose village hall.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Association are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Crawfordjohn and its environs by associating the local authority, voluntary organisations and inh bitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide, or assist in the provision of, facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants and in furtherance thereof but not otherwise to secure the establishment, maintenance and management of the Hall for activities promoted by the Association.
