02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Rosslyn Chapel Trust was established to conserve the 15th century building know as Rosslyn Chapel and other related sites, now including Rosslyn Castle, Collegehill House and an area of Roslin Glen. The Trust is required to raise sufficient funds to look after the sites and enable people to learn about them and does this through opening the Chapel to visitors and providing holiday accommodation at Rosslyn Castle and Collegehill House.

Constitutional objectives

The object for which the Trust is established is to preserve and to promote for the benefit of the nation and the local community, and for use as a place of worship, the 15th Century listed building known as Rosslyn Chapel situate at Roslin, Midlothian, and such other listed buildings as may from time to time be made available to the Trust at Roslin, the surrounding ground and associated buildings (both in existence at the present time or to be hereafter constructed) and the artefacts and others contained therein, and to promote and further the study of the said Rosslyn Chapel, artefacts and others and to make the information obtained available to the general public.
