02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The over-arching purpose of the Scottish & North Irish Yeomanry Trust is to 'foster the traditions of The Scottish & North Irish Yeomanry and promote the general well-being of The Scottish & North Irish Yeomanry'. The Trust’s main source of regular income is derived from the soldiers of the Regiment via the One Day’s Pay Scheme. In the last 18 months the Trust has contributed to numerous Squadron and Regimental activities. In addition, the Trustees have resolved to make an annual grant to Squadron funds starting in 2026. Where special projects are envisaged, individual donations are solicited so as not to encroach upon the funds contributed by soldiers. In order to obtain maximum benefit from individual donations, the Trust has registered under the Gift Aid scheme.
