02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity exists for the furtherance of the Christian religion both in teaching doctrine and in acts of practical Christian benevolence. We achieve this by holding regular Christian meetings in our Gospel Halls including Holy Communion every Sunday morning, Gospel preachings on Sunday afternoons which are open to the suitably disposed and interested public, and other prayer and Bible reading meetings throughout the week. In addition we carry out street preaching in Kilmarnock at which gospel tracts and Bibles are freely available to the public. Donations of food and household necessities are made to the needy via foodbanks. Our members are also encouraged to actively support the activities of of other charities, eg the Rapid Relief Team.
