02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To promote and encourage young people interested in aviation and the Royal Air Force. Training is provided which is useful in both Civilian and Service life. To foster and encourage a spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship. The main Cadet activities are Air experience Flying, Drill Movements, UK and overseas camps, standard training programme of subjects that include First Aid, Map Reading and various sports. These include yearly sports competitions v other squadrons throughout Scotland and all Aviation related topics.

Constitutional objectives
The purpose of the Squadron Association (‘the Association’) is to fully support the squadron commander to further the objects of the Air Training Corps (‘the ATC’) as contained in the Schedule to the Royal Warrant as amended from time to time but in particular to support activities which foster the spirit of adventure amongst the squadron’s cadets and develop their qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
