02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We support children and young people up to the age of 25 living with additional support needs and disabilities. Not only do we support the young person, we support the whole family unit - parents, carers and siblings. We own and maintain a fully adapted caravan in Ayrshire. This provides a safe, affordable, home from home holiday. Funding for these running costs ensures disabled children can enjoy fresh air and social play in a familiar environment with their families—a vital 'stress-break' many of our families could not otherwise afford. We also run a summer play scheme offering structured and inclusive activities throughout the summer from day trips to relaxing days for the whole family allowing much needed interaction with peers and building relationships with other children and supportive adults.
