02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Solway Sound has helped over 170 visually impaired people in Dumfries and galloway to keep in touch with their immediate and wider communities this year by recording and distributing a weekly digest of local newspaper articles - features, notices and announcements- in audio format

Constitutional objectives
2. Objects The object of the Association is to provide visually impaired people (or any person reading a newspaper or magazine difficult as a result of another incapacity or disability) with news and information from local newspapers and other reputable sources. This will audio format and delivered by digital storage device (eg USB stick), online or by any other suitable medium. The newspaper will be called 'Solway Sound'.
