02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
RSCDS Dundee was formed to further awareness and understanding of Scottish Country Dancing in the City of Dundee and the surrounding area, and to promote the enjoyment of this form of dance as part of Scotland’s cultural heritage. The Branch holds four local classes a week during the Autumn and Winter terms at a variety of levels, with an Annual Ball, a Half-day School, and four dances aimed at different levels of experience. It also participates in local events such as the Dundee Kiltwalk, does demonstrations at local Care Homes, and members participate at other local groups events as well as at HQ level.

Constitutional objectives
To preserve and further the practice of traditional Scottish Country Dances. To provide or assist in providing instruction in the dancing of Scottish Country Dances. To promote the enjoyment and appreciation of Scottish Country Dancing and Music by any suitable means. Generally to do such other things as are or may be considered by the Local Association to further the foregoing objects of the Society in the district or area to which it relates.
