02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Paths for All (known as Walking Scotland) is Scotland’s walking and wheeling charity. Walking and wheeling are the most affordable and practical ways to help solve some of Scotland’s biggest challenges, from health inequalities to the climate-nature emergency. Our programmes have 3 key themes. 1.Walking is for everyone. We create inclusive opportunities for everyone to walk and wheel including our Health Walk Network, and delivery in schools and communities. 2. Walking is for everywhere. We collaborate with communities to guide, support and fund the development of inclusive path environments to make places safe and attractive for all. 3. Walking is for every day. We encourage behaviour change through communications to increase positive attitudes to everyday walking. And influence policy relating to walking through advocacy, sharing evidence and best practice.
