02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Oceanallover is an Arts-based organisation delivering live events and training that are accessible to all. We offer internships and volunteering opportunities and work with other organisations to present live work to a broad public. The majority of our events are free to the general public and we rely heavily on funding from public bodies such as Creative Scotland to make this work possible. The company is led by Alex Rigg as Artistic Director, operating on a free-lance basis, and we have a pool of freelance arts-professionals that we work with to deliver our projects. The company is regulated by a board of trustees with whom we keep in regular contact and who oversee our financial and charitable accountability. Our annual accounts are prepared by Benham Conway in Glasgow and the accounts are shared with our Trustees for monitoring and approval. We are a not-for-profit organisation and we do not operate on a commercial basis.
