02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our purposes, as recorded in our constitution, are to further the objects of the Pitsligo Castle Trust by supporting the preservation of Pitsligo Castle and Peathill Kirk. to encourage the local community to participate in the purposes of The Friends. to advance the education of the public regarding the significance of the Castle and the Kirk. to assist persons wishing to visit the Castle or Kirk. to promote schemes of a charitable nature which encourage the use of the Castle and its grounds and the Kirk for purposes beneficial to the local community.

Constitutional objectives
To further the objects of Pitsligo Castle Trust a complany which it itself a recognised body by supporting and assisting in the preservation, restoration and maintenance of Pitsligo Castle and the adjacent land in the ownership of the trust, by advising the trust of any suggestions or opinions concerning the restoration and/ or management of the castle and by encouraging the local community to share and participate in furthering the purposes of the society. To advance the education of the public concerning the historic and architectural significance of the Castle by encouraging an appreciation of the Castle's importance in architecture and history by rendering assistance to persons wishing to visit the Castle and/or obtain information about it and by publicising the attraction of the Castle and encouraging visitors to it. To promote, establish and operate schemes of charitable nature for the benefit of the inhabitants of Pitsligo and its environs by making known to such persons that the Castle and its curtilage may be used for such charitable purposes beneficial to the community as approved by the pitsligo Castle Trust.
