02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity engages with those young people who are isolated or disengaged from mainstream education and youth services. We do this through a variety of ways, detached youth work, early Intervention (1-1 support), groupwork programmes and befriending. The work of the organisation also includes targeted practical skills training, music sessions, and environmental work in our community garden. We also provide mental health support sessions and intervention for the wider family , ensuring that the whole family approach is adopted and increases the sustainability of our work . The organisation also provides alternative diversionary activities to reduce alcohol and drug use and minimises the risk of young people becoming involved in crime and anti-social behaviour. We work in close collaboration with West Lothian Council, Police Scotland, NHS and other third sector organisations to improve the life chances of young people in West Lothian
