02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Provision of community swimming pool facilities When the pool building project was completed the charity established a 'Community User Group'. This User Group is the link between the community use of the pool and the hotel group. The charity supports the work of the User Group by providing assistance and advice. This ensures that the charity continues to meet the needs of the community.

Constitutional objectives

(1) To advance education through the provision of training in the skills of swimming, life saving and resuscitation and such other skills as would be of assistance to a person endeavouring to save life and through the provision of courses for schoolchildren and the general public in safety procedures. (2) To provide relief for children and adults suffering from a mental and/or physical disability or impairment through the provision of therapy within a swimming pool environment. (3) To arrange and promote lectures, demonstrations and competitions and to form classes of instruction so as to bring a widespread and thorough knowledge of the principles which underlie the art of swimming and life saving in schools, colleges and other educational establishments. (4) To provide in the interests of social welfare facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large within the Mull and lona area with a view to improving their conditions of life. (5) To promote industry and commerce
